A study of Indian railway employees
Authors
Ramesh Kumar Singh
Abstract
The Indian Railways, a vital component of the nation's infrastructure,
plays a crucial role in transportation, employment, and economic development.
This study investigates the working conditions, welfare measures, and
grievances of employees across various job categories within the Indian
Railways. While the organization provides certain health facilities, including
health insurance, the overall welfare provisions are found to be inadequate.
The demanding nature of the work, coupled with exposure to diverse weather
conditions, contributes to challenging working environments. The research
highlights the need for significant improvements in worker welfare to enhance
job satisfaction, productivity, and the overall efficiency of the Indian
Railways system.
